Be Unique, No Matter What They Say

Society would tell us anything it wants us to believe. If we go with the waves and accept what we’re given, we are bound to find ourselves full of confusion, lies, despair, hatred and bitterness while accepting to live in a reality that doesn’t exist. What are we to do when we’re still up against the expectations of other people based upon society?

This questions must be answered, because it will lead one to a happy, fulfilled life or down the road of destruction like we’ve all seen before. To this day, I’ve always been the outcast in my family. I chose to take the risk of an entrepreneur. I have traveled freely without fear of the unknown which lie ahead. I’ve dropped my religious beliefs and adapted to a more spiritual path. I stopped eating flesh, eggs and eat very little dairy products when meat products are popular based on religion and taste. I saw a lack of role models and care in our mediocre schools across our country. I made the decision to utilize a virtual charter school that has been one of the best things I’ve done for my growing sons. My choices have made me unique even though many wouldn’t understand.

What has helped me keep moving forward is looking at what makes me happy. I know my life’s purpose and I refuse to let someone else manipulate my decisions. Well, I stopped letting others control my life, because I have to live it.

I accepted the path of being alone. I used to be very transparent with friends who believed they needed other people to prove who they are. I’ve said on countless occasions, we came in this world alone and will die alone. That is just reality. I left home at 18 years old. From that moment, I spent a lot of time alone. I lived my life by keeping in contact with people family from a distance. There’s nothing wrong with that.

When I faced my problems, I had to be my own Shero. I can’t speak for everyone, but being alone made me a stronger woman. Yes, I’ve faced challenges that some agreed to not making it through, but I know I chosen for this unique path. There were times when I was extremely uncomfortable, but a better door always opened. I look to my Creator for help when in need and know how to do the rest on my own.

It doesn’t matter if others don’t get it, because I was the chosen one. I’ve lost count of how many times someone I know would be confused or just want me to give up. Every time I speak of Mama With Purpose, or any of my past ventures, they would instantly say, “You should just work a full time job, spend your nights with your kids and forget about your business ideas.” The part is that I work my business on a very part time basis, because I work and have a family to provide for. When these conversations come about, I’ve learn to stop sharing my ideas with others, especially immediate family. I was chosen for this path and will thrive no matter what others think. It’s funny, because it’s always the ones who gave up on their dreams or don’t have any goals who want you to give up on yours.

In conclusion, listen to your heart and remember to take your brain with you. We’re living with purpose over here no matter what others expect of us. That’s what makes us unique.
